No Excuses Challenge Day ??
Goals:
1) Kick my coffee with cream and splenda addiction. I’ve had maybe 3 coffees in the past 3 weeks? Not too shabby considering I used to drink 1-2 a day. I’ve replaced coffee with Matcha green tea and yerba mate tea. Both of which are supposed to help you metabolism. Um, bonus!
2) Drink more green tea. Yup! As above.
3) Continue eating...
Holy mother of Batman....
…I don’t even really know what that means but I am I bit delirious right now bc Mark the trainer seriously just kicked my ass.
My own warmup: 3 mile run
Mark’s warmup: 3 rounds of
10 shoulder dislocates
10 ohs
10 plank walk outs
10 sit ups
Mark’s WOD #1: 50-30-20 of -
Sumo deadlift high pulls (16kg kb)
V sits
Air squats
That’s 100 reps of each...
Found out I’m being sent to Toronto in a couple of weeks for work. First thing I do? Make sure the hotel I’m staying has a gym.
Priorities.

I quit Crossfit in November. Not sure if you all noticed, but I don’t officially belong to a box anymore. I want to make it very clear that it had NOTHING to do with the coaches or people at my box. In fact, I think my CF box was and is AWESOME. The coaches are top notch and the emphasis is on form and safety. But it had EVERYTHING to do with my mindset (and lack of muscles??).
Quitting...
On cloud 9 right now...
…because a personal trainer (I’m at the gym) just asked me if I’m a personal trainer.
DUDE.
WINNING!

No excuses challenge...
….has not been going well the past couple of days. But really, I have an excuse! I’m not feeling well and all I want to eat are digestive biscuits and ginger snaps. So here were my goals:
1. Kick Starbucks habit. I had one small coffee yesterday. But that’s it so not too shabby.
2. Drink more green tea. Yup!
3. Continue eating Paleo. Um, no.
4. Eat less nuts and dried fruit....
197 burpees today...
…because I missed yesterday (day 98) and today is day 99.
Fun.
I have 97 burpees to do WOD
Yesterday was day 97 of my self-inflicted 100 day burpee challenge. I present to you one of my workouts from yesterday:
3 rounds for time of:
30 row for calories
30 burpees (last round 37)
30 sit ups
30 kb swings
30 kb goblet squats
OMG. Try this and tell me how much it killed you. Such an amazing workout.

30 Day No Excuses Challenge
What a great idea - thanks Fame!
1. Since I already workout 1-2 times a day (yes, a DAY not a typo) my goal is to actually include an “active” rest day once a week. This means an easy bike ride or a nice, long walk. This does NOT mean a run, Crossfit, Insanity or stair climbing. Rest days are just as important as being active and I need to remember this. I might even go really crazy...
thehealthyrecoverer asked: how does natural peanut butter taste different than organic?
Day 90* of the 100 burpee day challenge went something like this:
5 burpees
fuck
5 burpees
I hate this shit
5 burpees
I can’t believe I’m still doing this
5 burpees
holy mofo I still have 70 more to go
10 burpees
fuck fuck….
you get the idea, yes?
kill me now.
* just realized it’s only day 89. So I did an extra burpee AND I have 11 more days in this God...
Return of Mark the trainer
WOD:
30 seconds of kb goblet squats
30 seconds of one handed kb swings
30 seconds of around the world
30 seconds of kb clean & press (left)
30 seconds of kb clean & press (right)
30 seconds of around the world
30 seconds of kb clean and walk outs
30 seconds of 2 handed kb swings
x 3 rounds
THEN:
what felt like a million suicide drills and dumbbell snatches
I ALSO:
Did 40...
My friend’s great grandmother survived the holocaust. He always tells me that after hearing about the atrocities she went thru he can honestly say that “he’s never had a bad day.”
Word.
Warmup: 40 minute bike ride to the gym
Workout: 5 sets of 5 of push press, front squat, back squat, power clean and deadlifts, then…
25 toes to bar, 50 walking lunges with a 25lb plate and 155 burpees, then…
40 minute bike ride home, then..
Crash on the sofa for a well deserved nap!
I’ve met Fame in real life: just didn’t know it at the time. Yup, be jealous.
And the photos don’t do her justice. She’s even prettier in real life!
Paleo AKA Poopleo!
Sorry…TMI
Day 1 of my 6 week paleo challenge. So. Many. Eggs.
Warmup: 1500M row, 25 burpees
WOD(SSSS):
21-15-9 of front squats (85#) and burpees. Rest 2 minutes, then
21-15-9 of power cleans (65#) and sit ups. Rest 2 minutes, then
21-15-9 of deadlifts (95#) and push ups, then
60 minute spin class.
Ok, even I acknowledge that today was a bit much. To be fair, I wasn’t actually planning on attending the spin class. I just sorta stumbled into it.
