Deadlifts, Yo!
I can’t deadlift. No really, I can’t. It’s something I’ve been struggling with for a long time now. I mean, I’ve deadlifted 195lbs before, but with improper form so I knew that today’s WOD was going to be hard for me:

CrossFit at my sister’s box: CrossFit Belltown.
WOD: 21-15-9 of dumbbell squat power cleans and burpees. My CrossFit box doesn’t use dumbbells in their WODS so I was allowed to use what I thought was a 55 pound barbell. It wasn’t until AFTER the WOD that I found out I was lifting 65 pounds!!!
Time: 8 minutes something.

Went to an early CrossFit WOD today:
WOD : 7 rounds for time of 7 2-for-1 Wall Balls(14/10) —-> 6lbs 7 Ball Slams(20/14) —-> RX!

I HATE wall balls, but I LOVE ball slams.

Benchmark, Yo!
Since I’ve started CrossFit, I’ve benchmarked a handful of WODS, but they’ve all been cardio (metcon) based WODS. For example, Annie (double unders and sit ups) I can benchmark (RX) because it doesn’t involve weights. Today, however, I benchmarked my first WOD that involved a heavy weight!

Double Unders...Why you so Hard, Ah?
WOD:
A. “Annie” 50-40-30-20-10 reps of Double Unders and Sit-ups —-> Time: 9:02 (RX)

CrossFit WOD:

CrossFit WOD:
Tech/Strength : Push Jerk Work up to 1 RM —-> 85lbs! I know, doesn’t sound like a lot for many of you but I was very happy with this.
WOD : On the minute, each minute for 20 minutes 2 Shoulder Press (strict) 3 Push Press 4 Push Jerk *Use 95/65 lbs *Complete as many minutes possible

So I cried before my WOD today. I was still frustrated from yesterday but the coach was super nice and so were some of the veterans. I’ve been told I’m competitive (check. NEVER play a board game with me. EVER) and a total perfectionist (double check). At CrossFit, I think I need to check my ego at the door and be patient. Unfortunately, I’m a very impatient person. Sigh....
