Paleo day 10
Breakfast: strawberries, coffee
Snack: nuts and raisins
Lunch: broccoli and beef
Snack: banana
Dinner: home made “hot pot” or shabu shabu. Basically boiled beef and veggies (so many veggies). Drained, then coated in garlic and lots and lots of hot sauce.
Organic as much as possible! Seriously, try grass fed ground beef and organic eggs. Tastes completely different than what you may be used to eating. Better for you too!
10 days in and I’m feeling really, really good. Feeling lean, fit and energetic.
Paleo day 9
Breakfast: strawberries, coffee
Snack: raw nuts and raisins
Snack: organic pepperoni, some dark chocolate
Snack: raw nuts and raisins
Dinner: steak
Snack: a few fried plantains (above). Nom!!!!!
Ok, serving sizes were pretty small (for me). Snacked so much had no room for lunch. Also, pepperoni and dark chocolate aren’t exactly paleo so it’s 100 burpees for me tomorrow. Le sigh.
Paleo day 8
Breakfast: strawberries, coffee
Snack: nuts and raisins
Lunch: broccoli and ground beef
Dinner: pork hock* and lettuce
* haha. I know, pork hock. what’s pork hock u ask? Pigs feet!!!! So good! I swear the paleo lifestyle is made for Asian carnivores. We Asians eat all the animal parts. Feet, intestines, skin. We waste nothing! One of my favorite things to eat are chicken hearts. Oh, nom nom nom.
Paleo day 7:
Breakfast: nuts and raisins
Lunch: 2 burger patties (no bun)
Snack: nuts
Dinner: giant salad with shrimp and bacon
1 week done!
Run. Check.
Grocery shopping. Check.
Paleo meals prepped. Check.
Walk in park with the man. Check.
Now? Lazy Sunday starts. Oh, yes.
Paleo day 6:
Breakfast: coffee, nuts and raisins
Lunch: 3 egg omelet with ham, green peppers and onion plus some fruit
Dinner: broccoli and ground beef
Snack: nuts and raisins
One week in and I’m back to my fighting weight. Yeah, baby!
It’s 11:30am here in Vancouver and I have already managed to:
Do 2 loads of laundry
Go the the gym and almost die while doing 100 power clean (75#!!!) burpees. So 1 power clean, drop bar and into a burpee and repeat. I did this WOD last weekend but only used 65# for the cleans. Proud that I used 75# today. I mean, I know it’s not too crazy heavy for a lot of you but 100 power cleans is a lot!
Bike (in the sun!) for 90 minutes.
Make and drink 2 espressos (Hiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Lose 5 pounds. Wha??? Ok, maybe this didn’t happen this morning
but thanks to Paleo I’m back to my happy weight (124, I’m 5’5”). Still going to continue with my Paleo challenge tho.
Now I’m off to the beach with a friend! Wee!!!!
Have a great weekend fitblrs!
Paleo day 5:
Breakfast: strawberries, nuts
Lunch: salad with shrimp, sweet potatoes and chicken
Snack: tuna
Dinner: chicken with salad (and some cheese - fail)
Snack: nuts
Hungry monster today! Portion sizes were ok tho but very long and stressful work day. Then went out for dinner and found a bit of cheese in my salad. Oops. I was wondering what tasted so good. Hahaha.
Ah well, I was planning on doing a workout that included 100 burpees tomorrow anyway.
Paleo day 4:
Breakfast: coffee, papaya
Snack: raw nuts, banana
Snack: more nuts
Lunch: broccoli, beef
Dinner: as above x 2
Serving sizes were ok until dinner. I was starving! Ate 2 bowls of veggies and meat. And I know I should take it easy on the nuts. Also trying to limit fruit intake to the mornings only.
Feeling pretty good tho. Less bloated, less “squishy.”
A fire truck followed me during my lunchtime run. It was weird. I wasn’t sure if they were following me, but after about 3 minutes of slowly driving behind me the truck pulled up along with a few firemen and they offered my bottled water.
The driver said: looking good! We thought you’d like a break. Would you like some bottled water?
No, I did not take the water (although I admit I have a weakness for a man in uniform).
Regardless, I was flattered.
And a tad bit creeped out too.
Paleo day 3:
Breakfast: strawberries, coffee
Snack: raw nuts
Lunch: ground beef and broccoli
Dinner: ground beef and broccoli
It’s only 7pm here but I’m done eating for the day. Well, I WANT to be done eating for the day which is why I post my eats up early - a great way to keep me accountable.
Didn’t stuff my face like I did yesterday but almost bit into a chocolate covered almond. But stopped myself bc I realized it really wasn’t worth 100 burpees (not much is!).
When I’m trying to shed a few pounds I find that besides keeping my carbs in check one of the easiest ways to lose weight is to repeat your meals. So you’ll be seeing a lot of “beef and broccoli” in the next few days (organic, of course!).
Anyway, I am exhausted! I am an early bird so I was up at 5am this morning. Worked out for an hour. Went to work. Ran at lunch (yes, I often work out twice in a day). Home. Prepped paleo meals. Cleaned the house. Now I’m ready to sit my ass on the sofa. I get made fun of a lot bc I go to bed before my grandma. Like…I will be in bed by 9 pm on some nights! But I LOVE accomplishing so much by 7 in the morning.
Paleo Day 2:
Breakfast: beef and broccoli
Snack: almonds
Lunch: veggies and chicken
Snack: almonds, pecans
Dinner: pork and broccoli
Serving sizes were a tad out of control. But cravings for carbs and sugar were more or less non-existant. Probably bc I was stuffing my face all day.
Hopefully I will be in control of both cravings and serving sizes in the next few days or so.
Paleo day 1 started today. Again. Le sigh.
Feeling a bit…squishy. And I know it’s all because of the food choices I’ve made in the last few months (read: poor). The title of my blog should really be…I like donuts. Period. No “when I’m not eating Paleo.”
I’m VERY active. But I have to remind myself that just because I’m more active than the average person it doesn’t mean I can eat whatever isn’t bolted down. Seriously people, it’s been bad (rice, noodles, muffins, candy, chocolate kind of bad).
How many times have we read that abs are made in the kitchen?? And I know this is true bc when I’m eating Paleo my tummy comes out to play. I feel confident running around in a sports bra and shorts. Right now? Mmm..not so much.
So…welcome to my self-inflicted 1 month Paleo challenge. Actually, not a challenge. Just a re-introduction into the Paleo lifestyle. But for now, let’s say no cheating until around the end of June (but I will allow a bit of cream, coffee and tea - otherwise, I will not be a pleasant person to be around).
If I cheat, however, with something other than what’s mentioned above it’s 100 burpees.
Day 1:
Breakfast: coffee, 1 papaya
Snack: raw almonds, raisins
Lunch: salad with chicken
Dinner: ground beef with broccoli (haven’t eaten this yet, but I’m about to cook it)
I’ll be logging my eats as best as I can.
Keep me accountable people. Let’s do this!
It’s miserable outside but that didn’t stop me from going outside and run 90 minutes in the slopping rain.
I’m badass that way. ;)
My lululemon obsession has spun out of control. What you see are purchases from the last few days. DAYS.
You should see the damage that I accumulate in a year.
I need to buy stock in the company.
