What a great idea - thanks Fame!
1. Since I already workout 1-2 times a day (yes, a DAY not a typo) my goal is to actually include an “active” rest day once a week. This means an easy bike ride or a nice, long walk. This does NOT mean a run, Crossfit, Insanity or stair climbing. Rest days are just as important as being active and I need to remember this. I might even go really crazy and try to include two!
2. Continue eating Paleo(ish). For most of 2011 I was Paleoish. The last few weeks of the year I fell off the wagon. Hard. I’ve been back on since January 9th and I’m planning to continue.
Paleo = no grains, no sugar, no added salt. Lots of veggies, meats, and fruits (organic if possible).
ish = a bit of cheese and bacon. If I’m eating out I won’t freak out if a dish has a sauce that I’m not sure is 100% paleo. Also cheat meals on Friday night and Saturday night.
3. Limit dried fruit and nuts. Sure, they are paleo but they are also very high in sugars and calories. I’m not actually watching my weight but I think they are a big reason my abs aren’t as defined as I’d like them to be.
4. Kill my Starbucks craving. I drink 1 tall dark coffee a day. With cream and yes, a package of Splenda.
The horror!!!! I’ve been meaning to cut this out but I’ve been too scared to do it. It’s like crack, man! I’m totally addicted. So by putting it on my blog perhaps this will make me more accountable?
So…NO more Starbucks coffee or any coffee!!!! This is going to be very, very hard. It’s only 30 days. I can do this.
5. Replace coffee/cream/Splenda addiction with green tea, which, thankfully, I really enjoy.
I think that’s it. i already sleep 8 hours a day and drink lots of water and I don’t drink alcohol. But the coffee thing is going to be my biggest test. That, and incorporating rest days.
My goal isn’t to lose inches (but if I can gain some in my chest and ass that would be fantastic!) or lose weight.
My goal is simple = get a 6 pack. Not a 6 pack that is partially hidden. Not a 6 pack that can only be seen in good lighting or after an intense WOD but a 6 pack. Period.
